Media: Kalshi Plans to Raise $1B at a $40B Valuation

• Kalshi, an event contracts exchange, could raise around $1 billion at a valuation of roughly $40 billion.
• Tiger Global, Dragoneer, Sequoia Capital, and Wellington Management are taking part in the talks.

Prediction markets platform Kalshi is in advanced talks to raise around $1 billion in new capital. Reuters reported this, citing sources.

If the deal closes, the company’s valuation would come in at around $40 billion, up from $22 billion after the previous round. The funding is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.

Sources named Tiger Global Management and Dragoneer Investment Group among the potential investors. Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are discussing leading the round.

In May 2026, Kalshi closed a $1 billion Series F round at a $22 billion valuation. It was led by Coatue Management, with Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, IVP, Paradigm, Morgan Stanley, and ARK Invest participating.

In August, it emerged that since April, Kalshi has raised a total of $1.12 billion through a private share placement, including the round mentioned above. At the time, the company was also considering additional funding. 

In addition, in October 2025, the platform raised more than $300 million at a $5 billion valuation, and in November of the same year it secured another $1 billion at an $11 billion valuation.

According to Reuters, Kalshi is also holding preliminary talks about a potential initial public offering (IPO). The company plans to expand beyond prediction markets and move into other asset classes.
