Bitcoin ETF Inflows Reach $2.4 Billion as Exchanges Experience Significant BTC Withdrawals

Institutional interest in spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has surged, with US-based funds attracting approximately $2.4 billion in net inflows for the week ending September 25, 2026. This marks the highest weekly inflow since early October 2025, contributing to a tightening supply of Bitcoin as exchanges reported a loss of about 35,800 BTC during the same period. The inflows have not only bolstered fund balances but have also physically removed Bitcoin from the market's liquid supply.

Leading the inflow trend, BlackRock's IBIT ETF accounted for roughly $1.2 billion, followed by Fidelity's FBTC with about $702 million and ARK 21Shares' ARKB contributing approximately $295 million. Since its launch in January 2024, the cumulative net inflows across all US spot Bitcoin ETFs have exceeded $57 billion, with total assets under management reaching around $108 billion. This recovery follows a challenging mid-July period when ETF flows had dipped to negative $5.8 billion, signaling a crisis of confidence in the market.

As Bitcoin is increasingly moved into long-term storage, the data indicates a shift in market sentiment. Centralized exchanges have seen net outflows of approximately 31,782 BTC, valued at about $2.52 billion, with Binance alone responsible for nearly 19,500 BTC of these withdrawals. The ongoing trend of significant ETF inflows coupled with dwindling exchange reserves suggests a supply squeeze, as Bitcoin's total supply is capped at 21 million coins, with around 19.7 million already mined. This dynamic may impact the availability of Bitcoin for active trading in the future.
