Bitcoin ETFs Attract $2 Billion in Inflows Amid Price Struggles

Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States have seen a significant influx of approximately $2 billion in net inflows over the past week, marking the most substantial institutional buying activity since late 2025. This surge in investment comes despite Bitcoin's recent price struggles, as it briefly reached $87,397 before retreating below $84,000, establishing $87,000 as a challenging resistance level.

The week peaked on September 21, when spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded nearly $999 million in net inflows in a single day, the largest since October 2025. Following this, additional inflows of $715 million on September 22 and $347 million on September 23 brought the total for the week to over $2 billion. Major contributors to this inflow included BlackRock's IBIT, which absorbed $381 million, ARK 21Shares' ARKB with $289 million, and Fidelity's FBTC attracting $239 million, highlighting the concentration of ETF investments among a few leading firms.

The recent inflow trend indicates a shift in institutional sentiment towards Bitcoin, with cumulative ETF net inflows since mid-August reaching approximately $4.6 billion. This marks a notable recovery from earlier in 2026, when spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced significant outflows due to macroeconomic uncertainties. The current demand for Bitcoin ETFs, particularly from large institutions, suggests a growing confidence in the cryptocurrency market, even as Bitcoin's price remains volatile. Analysts are closely monitoring support levels between $82,000 and $85,000 to gauge the market's next moves.
