Metaplanet Acquires 1,000 BTC in Q3, Total Holdings Reach 44,000 BTC
Metaplanet, a publicly listed company in Japan, reported a net purchase of 1,000 Bitcoin (BTC) during the third quarter of its fiscal year ending December 2026. As of September 30, 2026, the company's total Bitcoin holdings have increased to 44,000 BTC.
During this quarter, Metaplanet engaged in both the sale and repurchase of Bitcoin, selling 10,000 BTC while acquiring 11,000 BTC. This strategy was implemented to assess the company's capability to monetize its Bitcoin assets effectively. The net result of these transactions was a notable increase in its Bitcoin holdings.
