Bank of America Increases Price Target for Coinbase Amid Mixed Market Conditions
Bank of America has raised its price target for Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange, from $174 to $203 while maintaining a 'Buy' rating. This adjustment comes in light of expectations that stablecoin revenue will see further growth following the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike in September. As a result, the bank has also increased its earnings per share forecast for Coinbase for the years 2027 to 2028.
Despite the positive outlook for stablecoin revenue, Bank of America has tempered its near-term performance expectations for Coinbase. This adjustment is attributed to a decline in cryptocurrency trading volumes, which has affected the exchange's immediate market performance. Notably, Bitcoin and Ethereum have experienced significant price increases of 43% and 70%, respectively, in the third quarter of 2026, highlighting a complex market environment for cryptocurrency exchanges.
