Morgan Stanley's Solana Fund Sees Inflows Amid Broader Market Decline

Morgan Stanley's Solana Trust, known by its ticker MSOL, has experienced a notable inflow of approximately $1.8 million, contrasting sharply with the performance of Fidelity's Solana fund, FSOL, which reported an outflow of the same amount in a single session. This divergence occurred during a week when the overall category of U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded products (ETPs) faced significant outflows totaling around $25 million.

Despite the broader trend, MSOL managed to attract fresh capital, indicating investor confidence in its low expense ratio of 0.14% and its strategy of passing up to 95% of staking rewards to investors. As of mid-October 2026, MSOL, which was listed on NYSE Arca in late July 2026, has accumulated approximately $52 million in assets, making it a smaller player in a market that has seen total net assets of around $1.62 billion across Solana ETPs since their launch in May 2026.

The contrasting fortunes of these two funds highlight a cautious sentiment among investors in the Solana market, as the recent outflows suggest a wait-and-see approach following a strong summer. While MSOL's inflow is significant relative to its size, the overall trend in the market raises questions about future investor behavior.
