BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust Sees $665.2 Million Inflows Amid Ether ETF Declines

On October 19, 2026, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, trading under the ticker IBIT, attracted $665.2 million in net inflows, marking a significant performance amidst a challenging day for its competitors. This influx was notable as it occurred while other prominent funds, including Fidelity’s FBTC and Grayscale’s GBTC, experienced substantial outflows of $83.6 million and $54.9 million, respectively. Overall, U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a combined net inflow of $526.7 million for the day, largely driven by BlackRock's strong showing.

In contrast, spot ether ETFs faced a difficult start to the week, with net outflows totaling $103.3 million. This decline extended a trend of withdrawals, with approximately $320 million in outflows recorded for the week ending October 16, 2026. The performance of these ether products suggests a cautious sentiment among investors, contrasting sharply with the growing institutional interest in Bitcoin as indicated by the inflows into IBIT.

The data reflects a broader market dynamic, where Bitcoin's relatively stable trading range may be encouraging larger investors to accumulate the asset strategically. By mid-October 2026, cumulative net inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs had surpassed $56 billion, with BlackRock's IBIT consistently leading in market share. Meanwhile, spot ether ETFs entered October with net outflows exceeding $950 million, highlighting a stark divergence in investor confidence between the two cryptocurrencies.
