OpenSea Confirms No Impact from Magic Eden Security Incident

OpenSea, a leading non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, has confirmed that it was not affected by the recent security incident involving Magic Eden and Limit Break. Chris Maddern, the Chief Technology Officer of OpenSea, stated on the X platform that the company's systems and smart contracts remain secure and unaffected by the breach.

In response to the incident, OpenSea has taken proactive measures by marking the affected ERC-721 NFTs, which are now restricted from being sold on its platform. This action aims to protect users and maintain the integrity of the marketplace.

Furthermore, OpenSea has implemented a system that will automatically mark any newly discovered exploited NFTs, preventing attackers from making related offers. This initiative underscores OpenSea's commitment to safeguarding its users and their digital assets.
