Pyth DAO Implements 100% Revenue Allocation for PYTH Repurchases

Pyth DAO has approved a significant change in its financial strategy by passing the OP-PIP-136 proposal, which mandates that all revenue generated from its products will be allocated to purchasing PYTH tokens on the open market. This decision marks a shift from the previous policy, which allocated only one-third of the non-PYTH treasury balance for such purchases. The new rule also applies to existing non-PYTH assets held in the treasury, streamlining the process for future repurchases.

The execution of this proposal will adhere to established rules, including a 5% slippage limit and a maximum transaction limit of $25,000. Additionally, all transactions will be publicly reported on-chain, ensuring transparency in the process. This change aims to bolster the reserve of PYTH tokens, which currently stands at 42 million tokens.

Pyth DAO's financial performance has shown promising growth, with an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $11.5 million and an impressive quarter-over-quarter growth rate of 86%. Notably, over 94% of the trading volume in real-world asset (RWA) perpetual contracts has utilized Pyth data in the last three months, highlighting the platform's significant role in the market.
