SEAL Org Co-Founder Samczsun Transitions to Board Role as Shane Batt Becomes Interim CEO

On October 16, 2026, SEAL Org, also known as the Security Alliance, announced a significant leadership change as co-founder Samczsun stepped back from his role as Chief Operating Officer. He will now serve on the board while Shane Batt, previously the organization's COO, takes over as interim CEO during the search for a permanent leader.

Samczsun's decision to transition was framed as a strategic move rather than a response to burnout. He highlighted the differing skill sets required for launching an organization compared to scaling it, indicating a need for a leader with a focus on growth. He expressed gratitude for his time at the helm and plans to continue providing strategic guidance as SEAL seeks a long-term successor.

SEAL Org, which focuses on enhancing the crypto industry's response to security incidents, has been operational since its public launch on February 14, 2024. The organization is known for initiatives like SEAL 911, a rapid response system for hacks, and training programs for developers. The promotion of Batt is expected to maintain continuity in these critical programs while the search for a new CEO is underway.
