NEAR Protocol Identifies $3.8 Million Exploit Linked to Deposit Bug
NEAR Protocol has released a postmortem report detailing a security exploit that resulted in a loss of $3.8 million. The report attributes the exploit to a bug in the deposit functionality of the protocol, which has since been addressed by the development team.
In response to the incident, NEAR Protocol removed deposit notifications to prevent further vulnerabilities. The team has confirmed that all users affected by the exploit have been compensated for their losses, ensuring that no one was left financially impacted by the incident.
