Bitcoin ETFs Trade Over $7.5 Billion Despite Net Outflows

In the week ending October 16, 2026, Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded trading volumes exceeding $7.5 billion, despite experiencing net outflows of approximately $145 million. The trading activity was particularly robust, with several sessions surpassing $2 billion in trading value, including a peak of $3.18 billion on October 8 and $2.29 billion on October 14.

October has shown a contrasting trend compared to September, which was characterized by positive inflows. Cumulative outflows for October have reached around $535 million, with a significant portion stemming from a single day on October 7, when $485 million exited the funds. This shift highlights a notable change in investor sentiment as the market navigates through the month.

Despite the outflows, Bitcoin's price remained stable, trading near $82,000 during this period. Major players in the ETF market, including BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC, contributed significantly to the trading volume, reflecting ongoing interest in Bitcoin investments. Since the launch of US spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, cumulative net inflows have totaled approximately $57 billion, with total assets under management now between $105 billion and $106 billion.
