Visa Launched Commercial Payments in USDC

      • Visa has moved pre-funding for international transfers in USDC via Visa Direct from pilot mode into commercial production.
      • The first partner is Inyo Global, which provides 24/7 funding for cross-border payouts in near real time.
      • The Inyo platform supports domestic and international transfers via Visa Direct in more than 180 countries.

Payments company Visa announced that its stablecoin-based pre-funding service for international transfers on Visa Direct is moving from pilot testing to commercial use. The first technology partner to put this feature into operation is Inyo Global.

The solution enables eligible clients to fund cross-border payouts in USDC in near real time, without relying solely on traditional banking settlement windows.

      How Visa Direct Integrates Stablecoins

Inyo Global is a payments infrastructure provider for money transfer services, fintech companies, banks, and other payments businesses. The company integrated Visa Direct’s pre-funding feature into its own platform so eligible clients can use USDC for international payouts.

With a single integration, the Inyo platform enables user onboarding, fraud risk management and compliance, payment acceptance, and domestic and international transfers in more than 180 countries via Visa Direct.

“The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption,” said Vira Platonova, Visa Direct’s global head.

According to her, the company is moving from experiments with partners to real-world use of a technology that helps businesses fund and move money around the world more flexibly.

Inyo Global co-founder and chief product and technology officer Robson Dantas noted that the integration gives payments companies a new way to fund payouts, available 24/7 and through the same Inyo APIs they already use.

From Pilot Programs to Global Payments

Visa is expanding its stablecoin business as part of a broader strategy to integrate blockchain technology into traditional payment infrastructure. In 2025, the company launched pilot programs for stablecoin pre-funding and payouts via Visa Direct. They were designed to demonstrate the potential of these assets for cross-border settlement, liquidity management, and international transfers.

The new phase marks a shift from testing to commercial use of these capabilities. Visa expects stablecoins to help businesses fund payments faster and manage liquidity more flexibly, while maintaining the reliability and scale of its global payments network.

The expansion of Visa Direct complements the company’s other initiatives. In July, Visa unveiled the Visa Stablecoin Platform — an enterprise platform for issuing, custodying, transferring, and redeeming stablecoins. The first asset supported on the platform was Open USD (OUSD) from Open Standard, and at the time, the service was available to select clients as part of a limited beta.

In August 2026, Visa and digital asset infrastructure provider zerohash announced a partnership that includes stablecoin account top-ups and payouts for Visa Direct clients, as well as 24/7 liquidity management for international transfers.
