Lighter Launches EVM Devnet Built in Partnership with Axiom
PANews reported on October 16 that Lighter announced the launch of the Lighter EVM devnet. It is an EVM-equivalent Rollup built in partnership with Axiom, powered by OpenVM, and running in parallel with Lighter Core. The two are designed to settle to Ethereum together through a single ZK proof. Developers can use Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers to deploy contracts, read Lighter Core's accounts, balances, positions, orders, and market data, place, modify, and cancel orders through smart contracts, and transfer assets between the devnet L1, Lighter Core, and Lighter EVM. Lighter is currently opening access in batches and plans to open to all developers in the coming weeks.
