Celestia's TIA Token Surges 32% Amid Altcoin Rally
On October 16, 2026, Celestia's TIA token experienced a significant surge, gaining 32% within a 24-hour period. This increase positioned TIA at approximately $0.69 to $0.70, leading a rally that saw at least 15 other altcoins also posting double-digit gains. During the same timeframe, Bitcoin remained stable, trading around $82,000, which often prompts traders to explore smaller cryptocurrencies.
The surge in TIA's value boosted its market capitalization to an estimated $650 to $670 million, with trading volumes ranging between $168 million and $203 million. The CoinMarketCap Altcoin Season Index rose to 60, indicating that altcoins are performing well relative to Bitcoin. This rally was supported by rising open interest and spot inflows, suggesting that the momentum was not solely driven by leverage.
The recent gains for TIA follow a cumulative increase of approximately 45% to 59% over the preceding weeks, fueled by notable network milestones. Celestia Fibre achieved a record data throughput of 3.07 terabits per second, enabling around 2 billion transactions per second. Additionally, the selection of Celestia as the data availability layer by Derive V3 earlier in October has contributed to increased activity on the network, highlighting its growing significance in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
