Strategy Bought 1,665 BTC for $143M and Increased Its Reserves to 847,666 BTC

      • Strategy bought 1,665 BTC for $142.7 million.
      • The average purchase price was $85,681.
      • The company financed the deal by selling MSTR shares.

Strategy bought 1,665 BTC for approximately $142.7 million between September 21 and September 27, 2026. The average purchase price was $85,681 per coin, according to an Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

After the deal, the company’s bitcoin reserves rose to 847,666 BTC. In total, Strategy has spent about $63.95 billion on the leading cryptocurrency at an average purchase price of $75,437 per coin.

To finance the latest acquisition, the company sold 1.47 million MSTR common shares under its ATM program, generating $246.2 million in net proceeds. Of that amount, $142.7 million went toward buying bitcoin, and another $103.5 million — toward buying back STRC preferred shares.

Over the reporting week, Strategy repurchased about 1.53 million STRC for $151.7 million in total. In addition to proceeds from the MSTR sale, the company used $48.1 million in cash for the buyback. As of September 27, Strategy’s dollar reserves stood at $5.02 billion, with cash on hand at $1 billion.

A day earlier, Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor posted a chart of the company’s bitcoin purchases with the caption “A little more orange.” Similar posts have repeatedly preceded announcements of new company acquisitions.

As a reminder, in July and August, Strategy sold a total of 3,328 BTC at an average price slightly above $64,000. Later, the company’s CEO Phong Le called the decision justified, despite the subsequent rise in the price of the leading cryptocurrency.
