The Quorum Backed the Decision to Shut Down ZetaChain’s L1 and Migrate ZETA to Solana

      • Proposal 68 was backed by 99.4% of voters.
      • Turnout came in at 58%, above the required 40% quorum.
      • Another vote will be needed to launch the ZETA migration and halt the network.

On September 20, 2026, the vote on Proposal 68 concluded. The proposal calls for shutting down ZetaChain’s L1 network and migrating the ZETA token to Solana. The proposal was ultimately approved.

The initiative received 99.4% of the vote. Another 0.3% voted against it, and 0.3% abstained. Turnout reached 58%, exceeding the 40% quorum required to pass. The vote closed at 14:58 UTC.

Approval of Proposal 68 does not mean the blockchain will be halted immediately. The decision allows developers to prepare a second proposal that will set the block height for the balance snapshot, the time the network will be shut down, the process for receiving the new tokens, and the withdrawal of assets from connected networks. It will be put to a vote after the swap mechanism is agreed with crypto exchanges.

Under the approved plan, ZETA will become a native SPL token on the Solana blockchain. The conversion will be carried out at a 1:1 ratio, with the ticker and total supply unchanged. Vesting schedules will also remain the same. ZETA tokens on Ethereum and BNB Chain are not affected by Proposal 68.

Until the second proposal is approved, validators will continue supporting ZetaChain, and staking will remain available. The team has not yet named a specific date for shutting down the L1.

The move is tied to a shift in the project’s focus. The ZetaChain team intends to focus on developing Anuma — an AI-powered app launched in February 2026.

According to the project, the service has attracted more than 300,000 users and processed over 1 million requests across 35 models. The developers believe that further product growth no longer requires a dedicated L1 network.

ZetaChain was originally developed as a blockchain for interoperability between different networks. In 2023, the project raised $27 million, and its mainnet launched in early 2024. The project’s investors included Blockchain.com and Jane Street Capital.

Also, as a reminder, in April 2026, the ZetaChain network suspended operations after the project team’s wallets were compromised.
