AUDUSD Reaches Highest Level Since June Amid Commodity Price Surge

The Australian dollar (AUD) has emerged as the strongest major currency against the U.S. dollar (USD) today, increasing by 0.86% and pushing the AUDUSD exchange rate to its highest level since early June. The pair peaked at 0.7178, with analysts identifying the next significant resistance level between 0.71993 and 0.7200.

This week, AUDUSD experienced fluctuations, reaching a low on Wednesday at 0.7070, which tested the 50% retracement level of the decline from the May 1, 2026 high to the June low. Although the price briefly dipped below this retracement level, it did not extend to the nearby 100-day moving average, prompting buyers to step in and drive the price higher following a U.S. Treasury announcement.

Today's gains have coincided with rising commodity prices, particularly in gold and silver, which have seen significant increases. Additionally, Bitcoin has contributed to a broader risk appetite, rising 6.45% today and approximately 23% for the week. As the AUDUSD continues to trade above the 61.8% retracement level at 0.71193, buyers remain in control, with focus shifting towards the key swing area of 0.71993 to 0.7200.
