Drone Attack Halts Operations at Major Russian Oil Refinery

The Volgograd refinery in Russia has ceased all crude processing as of October 2, following a drone attack that caused significant damage to its equipment. This facility, owned by Lukoil, has a processing capacity of approximately 280,000 barrels per day, which accounts for about 5% of the total refining capacity in Russia.

The shutdown of the Volgograd refinery is expected to exacerbate the ongoing fuel shortages in the country. The incident is part of a broader trend of increasing disruptions to Russia's refining infrastructure due to repeated attacks, raising concerns about the stability of the nation's fuel supply.
