Ethereum Experiences Pullback Amid Deteriorating Risk Sentiment

Ethereum has seen a pullback into a key trendline as risk sentiment weakened following remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Iran. The cryptocurrency had previously been buoyed by a rally that began after a submission for regulatory review by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) became public. This submission aimed to establish a framework for the cryptocurrency market, signaling the CFTC's intention to proceed without waiting for congressional approval after the CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate.

Despite the bullish momentum driven by short-covering and a breakout from a month-long trading range, Trump's comments about potential U.S.-Iran negotiations after the November elections have dampened market optimism. The general risk sentiment has declined, which could impact Ethereum's price trajectory. If the situation in Iran escalates, it may lead to rising oil prices, further pressuring risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

On the technical front, Ethereum has stalled around the $2,800 mark, with a new upward trendline potentially providing support at $2,560. Analysts suggest that a pullback to this support level could attract buyers, while a break below the trendline may prompt sellers to target a drop to $2,360. Upcoming economic indicators, such as the Flash U.S. PMIs and a meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, are also expected to influence market dynamics.
