European Stock Indices Close Higher Amid Declining Yields

Major European stock indices finished the trading session on a positive note, with Italy’s FTSE MIB leading the gains. The German DAX rose by 1.07% to close at 25,575.02 points, while France’s CAC 40 increased by 0.92% to 8,138.95 points. The UK’s FTSE 100 and Spain’s Ibex also saw gains of 0.75% and 1.08%, respectively, closing at 10,739.02 points and 19,724.40 points. The FTSE MIB surged by 1.60%, ending at 52,371.53 points.

In addition to rising equities, European benchmark 10-year government bond yields experienced a notable decline. Germany's yield fell to 3.453%, down 6.2 basis points, while France's yield decreased to 4.466%, down 8.8 basis points. The UK, Spain, and Italy also saw their yields drop, contributing to a favorable environment for risk assets during the session.

Across the Atlantic, US stock indices also reported gains, with the Nasdaq Composite leading the way, up 1.71%. Technology and semiconductor shares were particularly strong, with notable increases from companies like Meta and Alphabet. The Nasdaq 100 rose by 2.22%, reflecting a robust performance in the tech sector. Meanwhile, WTI crude oil prices fell sharply, easing inflation concerns, while Bitcoin rebounded significantly, trading near $85,933. Overall, the market sentiment leaned towards risk-on as traders exited their positions in Europe.
