Firmus Technologies Pursues $10 Billion Financing for Indonesian Data Center

Firmus Technologies Pty, an Australian artificial intelligence startup backed by Nvidia Corp., is seeking to secure $10 billion in financing to support the development of a data center in Batam, Indonesia. The funding will primarily be used to acquire Nvidia chips for the company's 360-megawatt AI Factory campus, which is being developed in collaboration with DayOne Data Centers Ltd.

The financing plan includes approximately $7.5 billion in debt and $2.5 billion in equity, with Nvidia providing revenue-sharing and credit support to help mitigate risks associated with the investment. This capital raise is crucial for Firmus as it prepares for an initial public offering (IPO) scheduled for late October, which is expected to generate up to $5 billion, potentially making it one of the largest listings in Australia.

The ambitious project highlights the growing demand for AI infrastructure and the role of significant investments in advancing technology capabilities in the region. Firmus's efforts reflect a broader trend of increasing collaboration between tech companies and financial institutions to support large-scale technology initiatives.
