Gold Prices Rise 3.6% Amid Increased US Treasury Bond Buybacks

Gold prices surged by 3.6%, approaching the $4,500 mark, following the US Treasury's announcement to double its long-dated bond buybacks to a minimum of $4 billion per operation. This significant increase in bond buybacks has contributed to a decline in 30-year Treasury yields, which fell by nearly 9 basis points.

The rise in gold prices is also reflected in the performance of silver and other precious metals, as well as mining companies in the sector. The decrease in yields and the weakening of the dollar have created a favorable environment for these commodities, enhancing their appeal to investors.
