Gold Prices Surge Above Key Technical Levels

Gold prices have seen a significant increase this week, driven by a decline in the U.S. dollar. The price of gold moved away from its 100-day moving average of $4,391.78 and approached the 200-day moving average of $4,501.13. Following a day of fluctuating prices, gold buyers gained momentum, pushing prices higher.

As of today, gold has risen approximately $90, breaking above the 200-day moving average and surpassing the 38.2% retracement level of the 2026 trading range at $4,573.87. This breakout indicates a stronger control by buyers in the market, with the 38.2% retracement now serving as a key support level for further upward movement.

The next significant target for gold prices is the 50% midpoint of the 2026 trading range, set at $4,768.93. This level is particularly important as it aligns with previous swing highs from early May. Maintaining prices above the recent breakout levels will likely keep the bullish sentiment intact, with potential for further gains.
