Ray Dalio Warns of Potential Pullback from U.S. Treasuries by China and Japan

Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates, has expressed concerns regarding the future demand for U.S. Treasuries, highlighting the possibility of reduced purchases by China and Japan, two of the largest foreign holders of U.S. debt. China's holdings of U.S. Treasuries have significantly decreased from approximately $1.3 trillion in 2013 to around $618 billion currently. Meanwhile, Japan maintains its position with holdings of about $1.1 trillion.

Dalio's warning comes at a time when 10-year Treasury yields are hovering near 5.3%. He suggests that a decline in foreign demand for U.S. debt could lead to increased pressure on U.S. borrowing costs. This situation raises concerns about the sustainability of U.S. fiscal policy and the potential implications for global financial markets.
