Silver Prices Decline Amid Rising Oil Prices and US-Iran Tensions

Silver prices have recently faced significant downward pressure as U.S. Treasury yields and the dollar have increased, coinciding with a tense geopolitical climate and rising oil prices. Reports indicate that the White House has requested the Pentagon to prepare military options against Iranian targets, which could escalate tensions further. This situation has the potential to impact silver prices negatively if oil prices continue to rise, as the market anticipates further rate hikes from the U.S. Federal Reserve.

The Pentagon has also directed U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) to prepare for a possible resumption of major combat operations, although no final decision has been made. The renewed risks associated with U.S.-Iran relations are contributing to a bullish sentiment in the oil market, which could lead to higher Treasury yields and increased pressure on silver. Analysts suggest that if the geopolitical situation does not stabilize, silver may continue to weaken.

Technical analysis shows that silver has been on a steady decline, with a potential target around the $55.00 mark. If prices reach this level, buyers may enter the market, aiming for a rally towards $71.55. Conversely, sellers are looking for a break below $55.00 to push prices down to $45.55. Upcoming economic indicators, such as the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment survey, will also be closely monitored, but the primary focus remains on developments regarding U.S.-Iran relations.
