      US Stock Indices Close Higher with Technology Sector Leading Gains

      US stock markets finished higher on the latest trading day, driven by strong performances in the technology sector, particularly within the Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq 100 indices.       Chip and AI-related stocks were among the top performers, with Nvidia shares breaking a seven-day losing streak, rising 2.19% ahead of its earnings report scheduled for after the market close tomorrow. Investors are keenly awaiting the results, which are expected to provide insights into demand and margins in the AI sector. Other notable gainers included Micron Technology, which rose by 2.48%, and Marvell Technology, which increased by 4.84%.

      Several other chip and AI stocks also saw significant gains, including Lumentum Holdings, which rose by 6.67%, and AMD, which increased by 4.91%. The overall market sentiment was bolstered by a decline in crude oil prices, which fell to $80.50, down $4.56 for the day. Additionally, US Treasury yields decreased, with the two-year yield down by 6 basis points and the ten-year yield down by 8.1 basis points. The positive trading day sets the stage for potential further gains, contingent on upcoming earnings reports from key technology companies.
