Arbitrum Introduces Per-Transaction Priority Auctions to Replace Timeboost

Arbitrum, a prominent layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has announced the replacement of its Timeboost feature with a new system of per-transaction priority auctions. This change aims to enhance the efficiency and fairness of transaction processing on the network.

Under the new auction model, priority fees and paid Fast Feed subscriptions will direct 97% of the proceeds to the Arbitrum Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) treasury, while the remaining 3% will benefit the Arbitrum Developer Guild. This allocation is designed to support ongoing development and community initiatives within the Arbitrum ecosystem.

The shift to per-transaction priority auctions is expected to improve user experience by allowing for more predictable transaction costs and prioritization based on user demand. This move reflects Arbitrum's commitment to optimizing its platform as it continues to grow in the competitive landscape of blockchain technology.
