Bit2Me Launches Unit to Aid Law Enforcement in Crypto Asset Tracking

Bit2Me, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Spain, has established a dedicated unit to assist law enforcement agencies in tracking and liquidating seized digital assets. The exchange has processed approximately 1.5 million euros (around $1.76 million) in confiscated cryptocurrency for organizations including Interpol, Europol, and the Spanish national police in 2025. This initiative marks a significant shift for Bit2Me as it transitions from a retail-focused platform to a business-to-business (B2B) service provider.

The exchange's law enforcement activities are supported by its partnership with Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm that provides the necessary tools for transaction monitoring and asset tracing. This collaboration enables Bit2Me to convert seized cryptocurrencies into fiat currency efficiently. The exchange's B2B revenue now constitutes 27% of its total revenue, reflecting a strategic pivot towards institutional and government services, with trading volume reaching 5.3 billion euros ($6.24 billion) this year, an eightfold increase from 2023.

Bit2Me has also secured a Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) license from Spain's securities regulator, the CNMV, becoming the first platform in the country to receive authorization under the new European framework. This regulatory approval allows Bit2Me to expand its services across the European Union, with plans to enter the Portuguese market. The exchange's evolution underscores a broader trend in the cryptocurrency sector, emphasizing the professionalization of exchange services and the integration of digital assets into established financial and legal systems.
