Ledger Confirms Unauthorized Hardware Implants in User Devices; CryptoBilis Suspends Sales

Ledger Support has confirmed that unauthorized hardware implants have been detected in the device of one affected user. The company is in contact with the user and is conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter. Ledger is also urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and has stated that it is cooperating with law enforcement agencies to address the issue.

In response to the situation, CryptoBilis, a dealer of hardware wallets, has suspended all sales of its inventory until the investigation concludes. Ledger is in active communication with CryptoBilis regarding necessary follow-up actions. The company has reassured users that there are currently no indications that its security infrastructure or services have been compromised.

For customers who purchased Ledger devices from CryptoBilis, the company advises against initializing the setup if it has not yet been completed. If the setup has already been finalized, users are encouraged to transfer their assets to a new Ledger signing device using new recovery phrases. Ledger emphasizes the importance of remaining vigilant against potential scams that may arise from this incident and advises users to seek updates only through official channels.
