Ethereum ETFs Experience Largest Weekly Outflow Since January 2026

During the trading week ending October 9, 2026, U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced their most significant outflow since January, with investors withdrawing $542.1 million. This marks the largest weekly exodus in over eight months, coinciding with a decline in Ether's price, which fell below the critical $2,500 mark.

The outflows were heavily concentrated in BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), which accounted for approximately $477 million of the total redemptions, representing about 88% of the overall withdrawals. Grayscale's Ethereum Trust (ETHE) followed with $31.9 million in outflows. The recent trend has seen Ethereum ETFs record nine consecutive trading days of outflows, totaling $697.2 million since September 29, 2026.

Ether's price settled at around $2,491 on October 10, down more than 7% from the previous week, as trading volume dropped significantly by 61%, reaching $7.2 billion. Other cryptocurrencies also faced similar challenges, with Bitcoin ETFs seeing outflows of approximately $681 million and Solana ETFs experiencing their first outflows since their launch, ending a 14-week inflow streak.

Despite the recent redemptions, cumulative net inflows into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs remain positive, totaling about $13.26 billion as of October 9, 2026. The total net assets held across these funds are estimated at $15.71 billion, indicating that the recent outflows, while substantial, represent only a fraction of the overall capital that has flowed into these products.
