Bitcoin ETFs Experience $210 Million Outflow as Ethereum ETFs Maintain Positive Trend
On August 28, Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) faced a significant setback, recording a net outflow of approximately $201.9 million, marking the first daily outflow since mid-August. This outflow occurred after a nine-day inflow streak that had accumulated over $3 billion. During this period, Bitcoin's price fluctuated between $77,696 and $78,000, but the abrupt outflow saw around 2,689 BTC leave the product wrapper.
The outflow was not uniform across all Bitcoin funds, with ARK 21Shares experiencing the largest loss at approximately $114.9 million. Bitwise followed with outflows of about $49.7 million, while BlackRock's Bitcoin fund saw around $33.4 million exit. Despite this recent downturn, Bitcoin ETFs have still seen cumulative net inflows of about $55.1 billion since their inception, with total net assets estimated between $97 billion and $100 billion.
In contrast, Ethereum ETFs continued to thrive, pulling in roughly $102.1 million on the same day, thereby extending their inflow streak to ten consecutive days. This positive momentum has resulted in cumulative net inflows for Ethereum ETFs approaching $12.9 billion, with total net assets estimated at around $13.8 billion. On August 28 alone, approximately 31,399 ETH entered spot funds, highlighting the sustained interest in Ethereum products.
