Bitget Resumes Bitcoin Withdrawals Following Major Security Breach

Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has resumed Bitcoin withdrawals after experiencing a significant security breach that resulted in the loss of $387.5 million. The exchange's CEO, Gracy Chen, announced the reopening of Bitcoin withdrawals while noting that withdrawals for Ethereum (ETH) and Tether (USDT) remain suspended as the company addresses the aftermath of the incident.

In response to the breach, Bitget is taking steps to bolster its security measures. Chen has committed to replenishing the exchange's protection fund to exceed $300 million within the week. This move aims to restore user confidence and enhance the platform's security framework following the breach.

The incident highlights ongoing security challenges within the cryptocurrency sector, as exchanges continue to face threats from hackers. Bitget's actions in the wake of this breach will be closely monitored by users and industry observers alike, particularly as the exchange works to secure its remaining assets and ensure the safety of its users.
