Blockworks Introduces AI-Driven Compliance Alerts for Crypto Exchanges

Blockworks has launched a new feature allowing cryptocurrency exchanges and banks to receive compliance alerts directly from artificial intelligence agents, eliminating the need for human analyst approval. This innovation, named Agentic Detection, significantly reduces the time required to identify alerts from approximately five minutes to mere seconds. The feature is integrated into Messari Monitoring, a product Blockworks acquired in June 2026, which now enables exchanges to make faster decisions regarding asset listings, delistings, and surveillance.

The Agentic Detection system utilizes a proprietary model developed from seven years of analyst experience, allowing it to quickly flag events that may require regulatory attention. Alerts generated by AI agents are categorized as either Agent-detected or Analyst-verified, with the latter remaining the default setting for monitoring views. Customers can opt to switch to Agentic Detection for real-time alerts, reflecting the growing demand for immediate information in the fast-paced cryptocurrency market.

Blockworks' monitoring system already had AI capabilities prior to this update, but the recent enhancements allow for more efficient processing of information from various sources, including social media platforms, governance forums, and over 1,000 news outlets. The system sorts developments into a detailed taxonomy, helping users quickly access the evidence behind alerts before taking action. The product is designed to cater to a wide range of users, including tier-one exchanges, custodians, and institutional risk desks, although specific customer names have not been disclosed.

The introduction of Agentic Detection comes on the heels of Blockworks' acquisition of Messari for over $10 million, a move aimed at enhancing the company's data and compliance offerings in the evolving cryptocurrency landscape. Blockworks, founded in New York, aims to combine trusted data with AI-driven workflows to provide comprehensive monitoring solutions for the crypto industry.
