Canary Capital Launches Staked TRX ETF on Cboe BZX Exchange
Canary Capital has introduced the Canary Staked TRX ETF, trading under the ticker TRXS, on the Cboe BZX Exchange as of September 9, 2026. This new exchange-traded fund provides investors with direct exposure to TRON's native token, TRX, while also incorporating built-in staking rewards, marking it as the first US-listed product of its kind.
The TRXS fund directly holds TRX and aims to stake approximately 90% of its eligible holdings, with the remaining portion kept unstaked for operational flexibility. Staking rewards are not distributed as separate payouts but are instead reflected in the fund's net asset value, enhancing the value of each share over time. The ETF charges an annual sponsor fee of 1.10%, and fees on staking rewards are capped at 20%.
The launch event featured TRON DAO founder Justin Sun ringing the closing bell at Cboe in Chicago, highlighting the ETF's significance in providing institutional investors with regulated access to TRX through traditional brokerage accounts. This development follows TRX's earlier listing on Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated exchange, which offered traders a compliant venue for the token.
The introduction of TRXS is expected to improve access for institutional investors who face restrictions on direct cryptocurrency holdings. By packaging TRX into a regulated product, the ETF aims to attract a broader range of investors, although potential buyers should consider the associated fees and the inherent volatility of the underlying asset.
