Cantor Fitzgerald Advises VerifiedX on $15 Million Financing Round
Cantor Fitzgerald, a prominent financial services firm based in the United States, is advising VerifiedX, a Bitcoin sidechain and open-source decentralized network, on a $15 million financing round. The VerifiedX Foundation announced the successful completion of this funding on Wednesday, which is intended to enhance its custodial partnership with BitGo, a custodian listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and to facilitate the launch of its wrapped token product, vBTC, on centralized exchanges.
VerifiedX operates as a Bitcoin financial operating system, providing various products including self-custody, instant settlement, programmable finance, and native Bitcoin utility. The unique feature of vBTC is that it generates a distinct native Bitcoin address within the token, allowing holders to deposit Bitcoin into this self-custody address while ensuring that the tokens remain on the Bitcoin ledger and within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The announcement did not specify the investors involved in this financing round. Cantor Fitzgerald has been an early supporter of Bitcoin on Wall Street and currently manages reserve assets for Tether's USDT stablecoin. Howard Lutnick, the firm's former chairman and CEO, has also been involved in political advisory roles, including serving as an advisor for Donald Trump's 2024 campaign and currently holds the position of U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
