Crypto Venture Capital Sees $5.7 Billion Rebound in Q2 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, crypto venture capital funding surged to $5.683 billion across 384 deals, marking a 31% increase from the previous quarter, according to a report by Galaxy Research published on September 16. The number of deals also rose by 10% compared to the first quarter of the year.

Late-stage financing dominated the funding landscape, accounting for approximately 77% of the total capital deployed. In contrast, early-stage deals made up about 15%, while seed and pre-seed rounds represented only 7%. Notably, trading, exchange, investing, and lending businesses attracted around $3.523 billion from just 51 deals, averaging over $69 million per transaction.

Despite the overall funding rebound, the formation of new crypto-focused venture funds saw a decline, with only five new funds raising about $3.9 billion, the lowest level since late 2019. The United States remained the leading hub for crypto venture activity, capturing 73.5% of the total capital and accounting for 39.1% of all deals, indicating a significant concentration of investment in American companies. This trend raises concerns about the diversity of funding across the crypto ecosystem, as one sector's dominance could impact the overall health of the market.
