Digital Currency Network Cari Secures $32.5 Million in Financing Round
Cari, a digital currency network designed for banking institutions, has successfully completed a financing round, raising $32.5 million. The funding was exclusively sourced from various banks, including First Horizon Bank, Huntington Bank, KeyBank, M&T Bank, Old National Bank, SouthState Bank, and Glacier Bank.
Built on an Ethereum-based permissioned Layer 2 blockchain, Cari aims to facilitate the on-chain management of funds for banks through a shared infrastructure. This technology is intended to enhance programmable financial services, allowing for more efficient banking operations.
The newly acquired funds will be allocated to improve bank access and integration into the network, as well as to expand the use of tokenized deposits and the development of programmable currency applications.
