Several prominent AI services faced significant disruptions on the evening of October 10, 2023. Claude, developed by Anthropic, reported two separate failures, with issues beginning at 20:37 Beijing time. The service announced a partial recovery at 20:56, but continued to experience elevated error rates across multiple models, including Mythos/Fable 5.1 and Opus versions 5, 4.8, and 4.6.

Shortly after Claude's issues, Grok, operated by xAI, was marked as experiencing an outage starting at 21:30 Beijing time. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding its recovery. OpenAI's services also joined the list of affected platforms, with increased error rates reported for ChatGPT and Codex at 22:58 Beijing time. OpenAI is currently investigating the situation.

These outages have raised concerns among users and developers who rely on these AI services for various applications. The incidents highlight the vulnerability of even leading AI platforms to technical failures, prompting discussions about the reliability and robustness of AI technologies.
