NEAR Intents Confirms Security Breach Involving Over $3.8 Million

NEAR Intents has confirmed a security breach that has resulted in the loss of over $3.8 million. The company reported that the attack was linked to a vulnerability in the interaction between its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and associated contracts. Following the incident, NEAR Intents has fixed the contract vulnerability and anticipates restoring core services within one hour.

In response to the attack, NEAR Intents has suspended deposit and withdrawal services for several public blockchains, including Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polygon, and TON, for approximately 12 hours. The company has also initiated on-chain tracking of the incident and reported the relevant cases to authorities.

On-chain investigator ZachXBT noted that the BSC hot wallet of NEAR Intents experienced multiple unusual fund outflows, with the stolen assets being transferred to the cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin and subsequently moved to the Bitcoin network. NEAR Intents has committed to fully compensating affected users for their losses.
