OpenAI Announces Plans for Humanoid Robot Development
OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman has confirmed that the company is actively developing humanoid robots, alongside exploring various other robotic forms. Altman emphasized that the design of tools and technology in society is largely influenced by human anatomy, making humanoid robots a logical choice for development. However, he noted that the focus should be on the capabilities of the robot's intelligence rather than its physical form.
In the near future, humanoid robots are not expected to be integrated into typical household settings. Instead, OpenAI plans to implement these robots in industrial applications, particularly in areas such as data center construction and maintenance. Altman indicated that the vision for general-purpose robots intended for personal use remains a long-term objective for the company.
