Polymarket Appoints Warren Jenson as First CFO Amid Competitive Market Landscape

Polymarket has appointed Warren Jenson as its first Chief Financial Officer, a strategic move announced on September 10, 2026. Jenson brings extensive experience from his previous roles at Amazon, Electronic Arts, Delta Air Lines, and NBC, indicating Polymarket's ambitions for growth and institutional credibility. This appointment comes more than six years after the platform's founding, a notable timeframe for a startup in the cryptocurrency sector, especially as it aims for a valuation of $21 billion.

The prediction market platform is currently pursuing a funding round of approximately $1 billion, led by 1789 Capital, which would position it among the most valuable crypto-adjacent consumer platforms. Since relaunching its exchange in late 2025, Polymarket has achieved an annualized revenue run rate exceeding $1 billion, providing Jenson with a solid financial foundation to work from. He will report directly to founder Shayne Coplan and also serves on the boards of Dropbox and Ripple, bridging traditional technology and cryptocurrency finance.

Polymarket's decision to hire Jenson is particularly timely as it faces stiff competition from rival Kalshi, which reported trading volumes nearly five times greater than Polymarket's in August 2026. Kalshi's recent legal victory allowing it to offer regulated event contracts to U.S. users has further solidified its market position. In response, Polymarket has launched new features, including a social engagement layer called Squads, aimed at enhancing user interaction between major events. With Jenson's leadership, Polymarket seeks to effectively navigate this competitive landscape and attract investor confidence.
