Pump.fun Introduces Holder Rewards, Phases Out Cashback for New Token Launches
Pump.fun has announced the discontinuation of its Cashback Mode for new token launches, replacing it with a new system called Holder Rewards. This change means that instead of receiving trading-linked rebates, users will now receive automatic payouts to their wallets for holding qualifying tokens. The new rewards system is designed to incentivize longer holding periods, with payouts distributed several times an hour based on the amount held in a user's wallet.
To qualify for Holder Rewards, users must hold more than $20 worth of the token, with larger balances receiving a proportionately larger share of the rewards. Payments will be made in the token's quote asset, such as SOL for a SOL pair or PUMP for a PUMP pair. This shift aims to streamline the rewards process, moving away from the previous requirement for users to claim cashback through the Pump.fun app or Terminal.
Existing tokens that were previously part of the Cashback system will not transition automatically to the new Holder Rewards model. Token teams and communities can apply to switch their tokens through a fee-redirection form provided by Pump.fun. New token creators now have the option to select either a standard Creator Fee token or a Holder Rewards token, with the latter being a permanent choice once made. Pump.fun maintains that its protocol fees will remain unchanged, regardless of the token type.
