Richard Heart Arrested in Istanbul Amid Ongoing Legal Issues

Richard Heart, the founder of the cryptocurrency projects HEX and PulseChain, was arrested in Istanbul, Turkey, by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) in collaboration with local police. The operation, reported by Turkish media outlet Sözcü, resulted in the seizure of approximately 4 million dollars in cash, 53 Rolex watches, 11 Patek Philippe watches, firearms, ammunition, and a significant amount of electronic equipment. Heart's wife, identified as A.K., was also taken into custody during the operation.

Heart has faced legal challenges in the United States, where the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accused him of issuing unregistered securities through his projects, raising over 1 billion dollars. He was alleged to have misappropriated at least 12 million dollars for luxury purchases. However, a related lawsuit was dismissed in 2025 due to jurisdictional issues.

In addition to the SEC allegations, Heart is wanted by Finnish authorities for serious charges, including tax evasion and assault. His arrest in Turkey adds another layer to his complex legal situation, which has drawn significant attention from both regulators and the media.
