Strategy Inc. CEO Phong Le Confirms Ongoing Commitment to Bitcoin Accumulation

Phong Le, CEO of Strategy Inc., formerly known as MicroStrategy, has reiterated the company's commitment to accumulating Bitcoin, stating that it will continue to buy and hold the cryptocurrency for the long term. As of early September 2026, Strategy holds approximately 845,050 BTC, which represents over 4% of Bitcoin's total capped supply of 21 million coins.

In 2026, Strategy purchased around 175,000 BTC while selling about 7,000 BTC, resulting in a net purchase rate significantly higher than its sales. The most recent acquisition involved 4,603 BTC at an average price of approximately $80,318 per coin, totaling around $369.7 million. These purchases were funded through equity sales, a strategy that has become integral to the company's operations.

Le emphasized that the recent sales of Bitcoin, executed primarily between $60,000 and $65,000 per coin, were tactical moves aimed at managing capital costs and funding preferred stock dividends, rather than a shift away from its Bitcoin-focused strategy. Since taking over as CEO in 2022, Le has focused on enhancing the company's Bitcoin treasury model and managing capital costs, positioning Strategy as a leading purchaser of Bitcoin in the market.
