U.S. Pre-Market Futures Show Mixed Performance Amid Sector Declines

U.S. pre-market futures exhibited mixed results on October 15, 2026, with the S&P 500 mini index futures declining by 0.3% and Nasdaq 100 index futures dropping by 1.1%. In contrast, Dow Jones index futures experienced a slight increase of 0.3%. The performance of major tech stocks, often referred to as the "Seven Sisters," reflected a general downturn, particularly in the optical communication sector, which saw widespread declines.

Notable declines included NVIDIA, which fell by 1.54%, and Google, which decreased by 1.58%. Other major companies such as Apple and Microsoft showed mixed results, with Apple rising by 0.76% while Microsoft fell by 0.46%. Amazon and Meta also reported losses of 1.47% each, while Tesla saw a decline of 1.40%.

In contrast to the tech sector, the biotechnology sector experienced gains, with Eli Lilly rising by 1.25% and Johnson & Johnson increasing by 1.76%. Other biotech firms such as Novo Nordisk and AbbVie also reported modest gains, while Moderna fell by 1.67%. The mixed performance across sectors highlights the volatility in the U.S. stock market as investors react to various economic indicators.
