VelocityDEX Launches After Audit Completion Amid Co-Founder Departure

VelocityDEX, a decentralized perpetual exchange operating within the Solana ecosystem, has officially launched following the completion of its audits by OtterSec and Asymmetric Research. The exchange, which has undergone a full open-source transition, resumed operations today after addressing previous security concerns.

Cindy Leow, who co-founded the exchange, announced her departure as Velocity enters this new phase. Her exit comes after a significant security incident earlier this year, where the platform was hacked by North Korean cybercriminals, leading to a theft of $295 million. This incident highlighted vulnerabilities within the exchange, prompting the recent audits and subsequent improvements.

The launch of VelocityDEX marks a critical step for the platform as it aims to regain user trust and establish itself in the competitive decentralized finance market. With the audits completed, the exchange is now positioned to offer enhanced security and functionality to its users.
