Anduril Industries has revealed plans for a significant expansion of the submarine industrial base in the United States, with an investment of $6.6 billion. The new facility, named Arsenal-2, will be constructed at Tradepoint Atlantic in Baltimore County, Maryland. This initiative aims to enhance production capacity for the Virginia-class submarine program in collaboration with the U.S. Navy.
The expansion is expected to create approximately 3,100 direct jobs and over 11,000 indirect jobs, contributing to the local economy and workforce development. Initial operations at the Arsenal-2 facility are projected to commence in 2030, marking a substantial step forward in the U.S. submarine manufacturing capabilities.
