      • Regulatory uncertainty increases as SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce announces her Oct. 2 departure from the agency.

On Thursday, spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States attracted $191 million in fresh capital. This represented the third consecutive session showing diminishing inflow momentum.

The deceleration came after an exceptionally robust week opening. ETFs recorded $999 million in inflows on Monday, representing 2026’s largest single-session accumulation to date.

Comparing Thursday’s figure to Monday’s performance reveals an 81% decline. Nevertheless, the six-day positive streak accumulated an impressive $2.8 billion total.

      Full-Week ETF Performance Remains Strong

Examining the complete Sep. 21–25 trading period, Bitcoin ETFs registered $2.39 billion in net inflows. Remarkably, each session during this span concluded with positive flows.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) dominated the competition. The fund accumulated $1.16 billion across the five-day period.

Fidelity’s FBTC secured second position with $701.6 million in weekly inflows. ARK 21Shares’ ARKB contributed $294.7 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT registered $203.3 million.

Ethereum-focused ETFs similarly demonstrated strength, capturing $689.8 million throughout the week. Solana ETFs gathered $188.1 million, with Friday alone accounting for $86.7 million.

Earlier in the week, Bitcoin’s price action pushed above the $87,000 threshold before retreating to approximately $84,000 by Friday’s close.

Market analyst Ted, operating under the handle @TedPillows, observed that Bitcoin currently maintains support above $84,000. He emphasized the importance of a weekly close above $82,800, warning that failure to hold this level could trigger a decline toward the $79,000-$80,000 zone.

Treasury Yields and Regulatory Shifts Create Challenges

Escalating bond yields have exerted downward pressure on Bitcoin’s valuation. Friday witnessed the 10-year US Treasury yield breach 5.2%, marking its highest reading since 2007.

Elevated yields enhance the appeal of traditional income-generating investments. This dynamic has diverted capital away from Bitcoin and similar speculative assets.

Strategy, the corporate sector’s largest Bitcoin holder, announced plans for daily dividend accruals across four preferred stock offerings. The firm believes increased payment frequency will enhance liquidity and shareholder interest.

From a regulatory perspective, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce confirmed her Oct. 2 departure from the commission. Peirce played a pivotal role in the SEC’s Crypto Task Force and contributed to policy development around staking protocols, token classification frameworks, and tokenized securities regulations.

Her resignation compounds recent legislative disappointments in Washington. The Senate recently blocked advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.

The Blockchain Association also faces leadership transition as CEO Summer Mersinger steps down. Former chief Kristin Smith will assume interim leadership responsibilities.

Internationally, German lawmakers introduced cryptocurrency taxation reforms. The controversial proposal would impose taxes on 50% of crypto disposal proceeds when investors cannot document original acquisition costs—a provision Circle executive Patrick Hansen has publicly opposed.

As of publication, Bitcoin was changing hands at $83,807, representing a 0.3% decline over 24 hours while maintaining approximately 8% gains over the trailing seven-day period, per CoinGecko data.
