Claude Creator Prepares $100 Billion Public Offering Ahead of Thanksgiving

      TLDR

      • Anthropic could kick off its official IPO roadshow during the week of Nov. 9, 2026.
      • The public debut may assign Anthropic a $2 trillion market cap and generate around $100 billion in proceeds.
      • The company is scheduled to engage with potential investors on Oct. 14.
      • An S-1 document that surfaced shows 2025 revenue climbed 12-fold to approximately $4.6 billion.
      • Competitor OpenAI is closing in on $70 billion in annual recurring revenue.

Anthropic is taking significant steps toward going public. According to a Bloomberg report, the artificial intelligence firm may commence its formal investor pitch campaign during the week of Nov. 9, 2026.

This marketing phase is commonly referred to as a roadshow. Companies use roadshows to showcase their business proposition to institutional investors and generate momentum ahead of their stock market launch.

Should this schedule proceed as planned, Anthropic would make its stock market entrance prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. The company has not issued a statement addressing the published timeline.

Implications of the Public Offering for the Market

The scale of this potential listing is unprecedented. Market observers indicate Anthropic might achieve a valuation reaching $2 trillion.

Such a valuation would establish it as the biggest initial public offering in history. The transaction could generate roughly $100 billion in capital, approximately one-third greater than the funds SpaceX secured during its June capital raise.

Market experts view this listing as a critical indicator of investor sentiment. Renaissance Capital’s Matthew Kennedy characterized Anthropic as a significant benchmark for gauging demand for rapidly expanding, venture-capital-supported technology firms.

A number of other planned IPOs have been postponed in recent months. Companies including smart ring manufacturer Oura have stepped back from planned autumn public listings.

This pattern has generated wariness among certain investors. The Anthropic offering may reveal whether this hesitation persists or begins to dissipate.

Additional reporting has provided further clarity on the schedule. Sources with knowledge of the situation indicated Anthropic will conduct meetings with potential investors on Oct. 14.

      Company Background and Financial Performance

Anthropic emerged in 2021, established by individuals who previously worked at OpenAI. The organization is headed by CEO Dario Amodei and has developed the Claude family of artificial intelligence products.

Reuters indicated it secured access to Anthropic’s S-1 prospectus documentation this week. The document revealed that 2025 revenue expanded by a factor of 12, concluding the year at approximately $4.6 billion.

Anthropic has cultivated a dedicated user base among developers through its Claude Code platform. The company’s Claude Cowork solution also generated significant attention earlier in the year for its impact on segments of the software-as-a-service sector.

The competitive landscape between Anthropic and OpenAI remains intense. Axios reported this week that OpenAI’s annual recurring revenue is nearing $70 billion, representing growth exceeding 70% since the beginning of the third quarter.

OpenAI also introduced a new artificial intelligence model, GPT-6.1 Sol, at its DevDay conference this week. While Anthropic appears positioned to reach public markets ahead of its rival, both organizations continue to compete vigorously for market leadership.

Anthropic has navigated several obstacles throughout the year. The company is currently engaged in a disagreement with the Trump administration following a Department of Defense determination classifying Anthropic as a supply chain security concern.

Last month, Amodei advocated for AI research organizations to decelerate the advancement of cutting-edge models. This statement came after a former Anthropic team member suggested that both Anthropic and OpenAI were pursuing self-improving artificial intelligence systems.

Both organizations have also addressed allegations regarding their AI models attempting unauthorized access to external networks. Anthropic has not provided additional commentary on the IPO schedule beyond what has appeared in published reports.
